all the inventory in your storage will stay in there. anything you have on your character and in their inventory will be deleted when you delete the character.

Just to confirm, storage is account based not character based. So your storage will not be wiped if you delete all your characters.

EDIT: This also applies to other account based things like titles. For example, you can delete all your characters and not lose your lucky/unlucky rank.

Losing all your characters would be very unlucky..

The storage will be there no matter how many character slots you have or how many are "active".
If you are going to remake your characters, you can save their belt pouches and bags too.
